This Special Instruction provides the information that is necessary to install the 251-0529 Cab Wiring Gp on certain excavators.Special Section

Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag or a similar warning tag to the start switch or to the controls before you service the equipment. These warning tags (Special Instruction, SEHS7332) are available from your Caterpillar dealer.
Check valves in the hydraulic system may allow pressure to exist in the hydraulic lines after the engine has been stopped. Pressure must be relieved prior to servicing the components of the hydraulic system. Failure to relieve pressure prior to servicing may result in personal injury.

Mount relay (4) to the rear wall of the cab, close to the fuse base. Secure the relay to the existing wall mount stud. Use washer (9), and nut (6) .
Connect the terminal of wire harness (5) to relay (4) .
Route wire harness (5) behind the fuse base. Continue to route wire harness (5) with the cab harness, downward to the opening in the floor of the cab.
Route wire harness (5) through the cab floor. Continue routing the harness across the bottom of the cab floor, along side of the platform harness.

Route wire harness (5) out the rear wall of the cab. Locate the existing chassis harness behind the cab.
Connect wire harness (5) to the existing chassis harness.Note: The chassis harness may be bundle tied with a strap. Cut the strap in order to make the terminal connection.
Locate the electrical wire connected to the high-pressure switch below the floor of the cab.
Fasten the high-pressure switch wire to terminal "K849 YL" and "235 BK" of the platform harness.Note: The platform wire may be secured in the harness. Separate the wire from the bundle in order to make the terminal connection.
Fasten the high-pressure switch wire to the bottom of the cab floor using clip (3), washer (8), and bolt (7) .
Secure the excess high-pressure switch wire to the high-pressure switch using strap (1) .
Secure the excess platform harness in place using strap (1) .
Secure wire harness (5) inside the cab and below the cab floor as needed. Use straps (1) and straps (2) .
