( 1 ) Operating pressure is 65000 2400 kPa (9425 348 psi).
( 2 ) Operating pressure is 111500 3950 kPa (16170 575 psi).
( 3 ) Three hydraulic pumps are listed. Only one pump is necessary in order to carry out the job.Start By:
Remove the engine oil filler and the oil level gauge. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filler and Oil Level Gauge - Remove and Install".
Remove the crankcase explosion relief valves. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankcase Explosion Relief Valve - Remove and Install".Note: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "General Information (Reference Material)" for more information.Note: If the rear main bearing is being removed, remove the guards and disconnect the drive coupling.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

The Illustration does not show the retainer as part of the collar assembly.
Illustration 2 g00577004
Illustration 3 g00577005
Note: Inspection or replacement of the main bearing can be done with the crankshaft in place. The stud tensioner tool group is used with the handling tool group. The stud tensioner tool group and the main bearing cap can be raised and lowered by using the handling tool group. The handling tool group includes supports (1), movable tray (3), and pins (2). Pins (2) are installed in the main bearing cap during removal.Brackets (4) of the handling tool group are bolted to the openings of the crankcase access covers. Adjustment screws are used in order to level the tensioner or the main bearing caps.Note: When you assemble the handling tool group, always use the spring clips. The clips will prevent components from dropping into the oil pan. Link (5) connects to either the tensioner or pin (2) .
Remove the remaining crankcase access covers.
