are disconnected.Test Step 1. CHECK THE CIRCUIT CONNECTIONS
Turn the key switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connector J2 from the Generator ECM.
Disconnect the machine harness connector J2 from the Motor ECM.
Disconnect the machine harness 70 pin connector from the Power Inverter.
Inspect the harness connectors and clean all of the contacts of the harness connectors. Refer to the illustration above to check the DC Power Bus 1 Voltage Sensor 2 connections on the machine harness connectors for the Generator ECM. Ensure that the wires and sockets are secured in the connector. Ensure that the contacts are clean, dry and in good condition.
Refer to the illustration at the beginning of this procedure. Examine the pins on the Generator ECM J2 connector that are used for the DC Power Bus 1 Voltage Sensor 2 connections. Examine the pins on the Power Inverter 70 pin connector that are used for the DC Power Bus 1 Voltage Sensor 2 connections. Ensure that the pins are secured in the correct location in each connector and ensure that none of the pins are bent or broken. Ensure that the pins are clean, dry and in good condition.Expected Result:The DC Power Bus Voltage Sensor connections on harness connector J2 for the Generator ECM are clean, dry and in good condition. The voltage sensor connections on the 70 pin harness connector for the Power Inverter are clean, dry and in good condition. Results:
OK - The harness connections for the DC Power Bus Voltage Sensor are in good condition. There does not appear to be any problem with the harness connectors. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - One or more of the harness connections for the DC Power Bus Voltage Sensor is not in good condition.Repair: The machine harness is a sealed harness. This harness and the harness connectors are not serviceable. In order to correct a problem with the harness or with a harness connector, the machine harness must be replaced.Refer to the complete machine Electrical System Schematic in order determine the part number for the machine harness. After the machine harness has been replaced, ensure that the problem has been corrected before attempting to operate the machine.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR A SHORTThe key switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position. The machine harness connectors remain disconnected from the Power Inverter, the Generator ECM J2 connector and the Motor ECM J2 connector.
At the machine harness 70 pin connector for the Power Inverter, measure the resistance between the voltage sensor circuit contact 66 (wire N846-PK) and each of the other contacts that are used on the 70 pin connector for the Power Inverter.Expected Result:Each of the resistance measurements between the voltage sensor circuit and all of the other circuits that are used in the harness is greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
OK - Each of the resistance measurements is greater than 5000 ohms. The resistance measurements are not indicating that the voltage sensor circuit is shorted to another circuit
