Remove plate (16) and add the measured amount of shims from Step 43. Install plate (17), five bolts (16) and the washers. Tighten bolts (16) to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft).

Use the following steps in order to determine the shims that is required for upper plate (19).
Tighten bolts (18) to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft). Note: Do not tighten bolts (17) at this time.
Position Tooling (N) through the two small holes near the outside bolt pattern of plate (19).
Measure the distance from the top of plate (19) to the surface of the upper boss in two places. Average the two measurements.
To determine the required amount of shims, subtract the thickness of plate (19) from the average measurement in Step 45.c.

Remove plate (19) and add the amount of shims (20) that is equivalent to the average measured distance in Step 45.
Tighten bolts (17) to a torque of 100 20 N m (75 15 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (18) to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft).

Lower the temperature of lower hitch pin assembly (24).
Install lower hitch pin (24) into the bores of the lower hitch. The weight of lower hitch pin assembly (24) is approximately 35 kg (77 lb).

Install bolt (22).
Connect hose assembly (23) to the rear frame.
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.

Install sensor (15) and connect harness.

Install bracket assemblies (14).

Install steering neutralizer valves (11).
Connect hose assemblies (12) to steering neutralizer valves (11). Connect hose assemblies. (13)

Position and install harness assembly (9). Install bolts (7) and bolts (8).
Connect hose assembly (10).

Connect hose assemblies (6) to the rear frame. Repeat for the opposite side.

Connect hose assemblies (4) and (5) to the rear frame.

Position steering cylinder and install pin assembly (2). Install bolt (1), the washer, and the spacer. Connect hose assembly (3).
Lubricate the upper hitch assembly and the lower hitch assembly. For the correct procedure, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Articulation Bearings - Lubricate" for the machine that is being serviced.
Fill the hydraulic tank with oil. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".
Remove all Tooling from under the machine used during the connection procedure. End By:
Install the center drive shaft.
Install the cab.
