Location of swing bearing lower seal If the swing bearing is submerged in water, mud, sand, or gravel, immediately grease the swing bearing. Grease the bearing until the old grease is squeezed out from the swing bearing lower seal. You should also Immediately grease the swing gear until the old grease is pushed out from the swing grease plate through the four holes as shown in Illustration 4. Following this procedure will help to prevent premature wear of the swing bearing, swing drive gear, and the swivel joint. Continuous operations in these conditions can damage travel motors, idlers, and sprockets. After you travel through water, carefully clean the machine in order to remove any salt, sand, or other foreign matter. Bearing check and clean out can be performed through the panel in the bottom of the undercarriage. Failure to follow instructions could lead to the warranty being null and void. Note: The recommended grease is 324-8142 Multipurpose Lithium Grease (NLGI Grade 2, 16kg).
