Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install Tooling (A) to hydraulic caliper service brake (1). Secure Tooling (B) to Tooling (A).
Put hydraulic caliper service brake (1) in position on plate (4). Install eight bolts (3) and the washers. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 750 80 N m (550 60 lb ft). The weight of hydraulic caliper service brake (1) is approximately 80 kg (176 lb).
Remove Tooling (A) and (B) from hydraulic caliper service brake (1).

Connect hose assembly (2) to hydraulic caliper service brake (1).

Measure the distance between two pins (6) and the disc with a feeler gauge. The distance must be 1.5 0.5 mm (0.06 0.02 inch). Move pins (6) in order to obtain the correct clearance. Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 48 4 N m (35 3 lb ft).
Repeat Step 7 for the remaining two pins and the two bolts that are located at the bottom of the hydraulic caliper service brake.
Purge the air from the brake system. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Brake System Air - Purge". End By:
Install the tire and rim (front). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Front) - Remove and Install".
