(1) System Input/Output Interface BoardThe System Input/Output Board (1) provides an isolation barrier between the controller and all of the communications ports that are used by the system. The System Input/Output Board (1) is used to provide external communications to the system. The System Input/Output Board (1) is also used to provide internal communications to the system. The following ports reside on the System Input/Output Board: Ethernet, COM RS-232/RS-485, Modem, UPS Net and CAN. These ports are used for internal control of communications and the external interface with the customer. In addition, there are six dry contacts (inputs) and six dry contacts (outputs). The System Input/Output Board supplies wetting voltage. The inputs for the dry contact utilize wetting voltage. The outputs for the dry contact are Form C style that provides a normally open contact and a normally closed contact. The last major function is the connection point that is used for the remote emergency power off. The System Input/Output Board (1) can work with a normally open system or a normally closed remote emergency power off system. If no remote emergency power off is connected or the normally open circuit is used, a jumper must be installed on the normally closed circuit.Removal Procedure
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (MMS System Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

Label all the input wires and all of the output wires for subsequent reinstallation.
Disconnect all connectors. Verify each labeling on the connector with the location of the wire. Verify each label on each connector. Refer to Illustration 2.
Remove the ground screw from the "J11" connection.
Disconnect the white plastic standoffs that connect the board (1) to the left panel.Note: The board (1) must be removed from the standoffs without bending the board (1) .
Remove the System Input/Output board (1) . Refer to theSystems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "System I/O Daughter PWA (MMS System Cabinet)" for removal instructions.Installation Procedure
Install the System I/O Daughter Board. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "System I/O Daughter PWA (MMS System Cabinet)" for installation instructions.
Position the board (1) in the cabinet over the white standoffs that are connected to the left panel.
Push the board (1) onto all the standoffs simultaneously. Verify that all standoffs are locked in place.
Install the ground screw on the "J11" connection.
Connect the wire connectors into the correct connectors on the board (1) . Check the labels on each connector for proper placement. Refer to Illustration 2.
