Make sure that there is metal to metal contact between the plate and the shaft before the bolts are tightened. Then make sure that the plate is flush with the carrier. Make sure that the gears can be rotated by hand. If the gears cannot be rotated by hand, guide the covers toward the carrier with the proper tooling.
1 16 034-3557 Locking Bolt Torque to 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).
2 29 7X-0366 Bolt Torque to 430 60 N m (317 44 lb ft).
3 1 9S-4185 O-Ring Plug Torque to 65 10 N m (48 7 lb ft).
4 1 6V-3298 Magnetic Plug Torque to 280 50 N m (207 37 lb ft).
5 15 5K-8454 Bolt Torque to 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
6 1 7X-4777 Lip Type Seal Lubricate the sealing lip of the lip type seal with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Installation depth of the lip type seal from the face of the retainer is 0.50 0.40 mm (0.019 0.016 inch).
7 1 440-4292 Duo-Cone Seal Gp(1) The rubber toric seals and all the contacting surfaces must be clean and dry at assembly. Before assembly, apply a thin film of oil to the contacting surfaces of the metal seal rings. The metal seal rings must be assembled square. The rubber toric seals should not bulge and the rubber toric seals should not twist.
