Removing The Compressor
COMPRESSED AIR ESCAPING FROM THE SYSTEM CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES. STAY CLEAR OF ANY ESCAPING COMPRESSED AIR.
1. Open the drain valve on the air tank to relieve pressure in the system.
HOT ENGINE COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS BURNS. ALLOW THE ENGINE TO COOL BEFORE WORKING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.STARTING OF THE ENGINE CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO ANYONE WORKING ON THE COMPRESSOR. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN, TAG THE ENGINE CONTROL AND LOCK THE MAIN BATTERY SWITCH AT "OFF" BEFORE WORKING ON THE COMPRESSOR.
2. Loosen the mounting bolts and turn the adjusting nuts to relieve the compressor drive belt tension Remove the drive belt from the compressor sheave. 3. Thoroughly clean around the hose connections, mark the compressor air, water and oil lines for identification during installation, then disconnect the hoses from the compressor. Cap or plug all openings.4. Remove the mounting bolts and move the compressor away from the engine. The compressor weighs about 44 pounds (20 kg).Installing The Compressor

1. Position the compressor on the engine and install the mounting bolts.2. Connect the compressor air, water and oil lines.3. Slip the drive belt onto the compressor sheave and adjust the belt tension (see Powerpack 2.0-21). 4. Close the shutoff valve on the air tank.
HOT OR MOVING COMPONENTS IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAN CAUSE INJURIES. STAY ALERT WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR A RUNNING ENGINE.
5. Start the engine and check out the operation of the compressor.6. After proper operation of the compressor is assured, SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN.Adjusting The Governor Cut-Out Pressure
HOT ENGINE COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS BURNS. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN AND ALLOW IT TO COOL BEFORE WORKING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
With the engine running, note the system pressure gauge. The pressure should be 95 to 110 psi (655 to 758 kPa). If it is necessary to adjust the governor cut-out pressure: 1. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN, remove the protective rubber cap from the governor, loosen the jam nut, insert a screwdriver into the slot of the adjusting screw and turn the adjusting screw slightly. Turning the adjusting screw clockwise will raise the cut-out pressure. Turning the adjusting screw counterclockwise will lower the cut-out pressure.2. Tighten the jam nut. 3. Start the engine and check the pressure gauge reading. Repeat steps 1 through 3 until the cut-out pressure is correctly adjusted.4. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN. Check to be sure the jam nut is tight and replace the protective rubber cap.Repair Procedures
