Description of Change: The new engine software provides updates to improve the operation of the aftertreatment system on certain engines that are listed above. The new software contains the following improvements:
Improved Aftertreatment System Verification Test.
New Diagnostics to Check the Compatibility Between the Engine ECM and the Aftertreatment ECM.
Added "Engine Emission Inducement Counter Reset" to Allow Caterpillar® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) to Reset the Inducement Counter up to 35 Hours.
Improved 3516-17 Low DEF Concentration Code.
CEM Temperature Protection Derate Histogram Added.
Improved NOx Sensor (-9) Code Diagnostics (Abnormal Update Rate).
Improved 4792-14 Diaganostics - Aftertreatment SCR Cataylyst Sulfation is excessive. Adaptable To: The new software is a direct replacement for the former software. Refer to Table 1 for a list of the new engine software part numbers. The new software is adaptable back to the first production on the serial numbers listed above.
