Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Do not disconnect equipment unless power has been disconnected or the area is known to be non-hazardous.Disconnecting equipment when the power is connected or when the area is hazardous may result in personal injury or death.
Drain the auxiliary cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

Remove band clamps (1) and disconnect hose (2) from aftercooler (3).
Remove band clamp (5) and disconnect hose (6) from aftercooler (3).
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the top of aftercooler (3). The weight of aftercooler (3) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb). Remove bolts (4), aftercooler (3), and the O-ring seal.
