Introduction
This Special Instruction provides the necessary information to retrofit the sliding window mechanism with the crank mechanism on the left cab door.Do not perform any procedure outlined in this publication, or order any parts, until you read and understand the information contained within.Necessary Parts
Removals
1. Remove the two screws holding the nylon web strap to the door.2. Remove the door from the cab. 3. Remove the screws and washers that hold the inside door panel to the door. 4. Remove the door latch handle assembly and keep for later use. 5. Remove the three screws and lockwashers from the underside of the armrest cushion. 6. Remove the two screws and lockwashers that hold the armrest plate to the door panel. 7. Remove the inside door panel from the door and keep for later use. 8. Remove the clip from the top of the door channel and tighten the screws into the door frame. 9. Remove the four outer bolts to release the tension on the regulator. 10. Remove two bolts from the brace to the regulator.
Care should be taken when removing the two remaining bolts from the brace. The brace will try to move away from the door, because of the tension in the regulator.
11. Remove the 5T-8707 Brace and set aside for later use. 12. Remove the three bolts from 9D-9957 Retainer Assembly. 13. Remove the two bolts from the top of 9D-9957 Retainer and remove the retainer, set aside for later use. 14. Remove the window assembly and regulator by sliding the glass up and lifting the right side out first. Discard the glass.Installation
1. Drill and countersink two holes 9.92 mm (.391 in) diameter at location (A) to the dimensions shown in the illustration. 2. Drill and countersink one hole 5.5 mm (.22 in) diameter at location (B) to the dimensions shown in the illustration and photo's above. 3. Drill a 25.4 mm (1.00 in) hole in the inside door panel to the dimensions shown in the illustration. 4. Install 111-8309 Window Glass Assembly, insert the left (hinged) side first. 5. Install 9D-9957 Retainer previously removed with existing screws (leave loose). 6. Adjust the retainer as needed for the glass to slide freely. Tighten the retainer. 7. Position 8Y-6393 Regulator Assembly so that the nylon guide that inserts into the extrusion on the bottom of the new window is down and rotated to the left one inch above the channel. Insert the nylon guide into the extrusion at the left edge and position it to align the two holes at the right side. 8. Install the window regulator using 112-4485 Block (beveled side up), two 5M-3062 Bolts and two 3B-4506 Washers on the right side. Use 112-4486 Block, one 114-3916 Screw, one 4B-4674 Washer and a 114-3913 Lock Nut on the left side. 9. Install 5T-8707 Brace previously removed with existing hardware.10.
