Remove seal retainer (7).

Remove O-ring seal (8) and lip seal (9).

Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to transfer gear (1). The weight of transfer gear (1) is approximately 177 kg (390 lb). Use a suitable press and suitable cribbing to remove carrier assembly (11) from transfer gear (1), as shown.

Attach Tooling (A)(not shown) and a suitable lifting device to carrier assembly (11). The weight of transfer gear (1) is approximately 177 kg (390 lb). Remove carrier assembly (11) from the suitable press. Remove bolts (13) that secure manifold (12) to carrier assembly (11). Remove manifold (12).

Drive spring pin (15) toward the center of planetary carrier assembly (11). Remove planetary shaft (14).

Remove thrust discs (17) and planetary gear (16) from carrier assembly (11).

Remove bearing (18) from planetary gear (16).
Repeat Steps 10 to 12 for remaining the planetary gears.

Reposition the cage assembly, as shown. Remove coupling (21).

Remove ring (23) from coupling (21). Sun gear (22) and retaining ring (24) can not be separated from coupling (21) after installation.
