Preparing the Machine
Move the machine to a smooth, level surface that will support the weight of the machine.
Turn off the machine with the engine switch to the OFF position.

Use proper Lock out and Tag out procedures. Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag to the machine start switch or the controls before you perform any service to the machine. These warning tags (Special Instruction, SEHS7332) are available from your Caterpillar Dealer.Required Parts

(1) 347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp (2) Allen head screwsNote: Only the 347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp (1) will need to have the 2R-4765 Washers installed as spacers. Refer to Illustration 2. The 347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp (1) will also have Allen head screws (2) in the cover and a sensor that is black in color. If the box has Phillips screws holding the cover on or a sensor that has a white top, the box is not a 347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp (1) and does not need spacers installed.

(3) Radar (4) Cover
Disconnect the electrical connector from the radar (3). Refer to Illustration 3.
Remove six Allen head screws (2) from the cover (4) of the 347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp (1). Refer to Illustration 3.

(5) 9X-2480 Bolts (6) Mounting Plate
Remove and discard four 9X-2480 Bolts (5) that attach the radar (3) to the mounting plate (6). Refer to Illustration 4.
Remove the radar (3) and mounting plate (6) from the 347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp (1). Refer to Illustration 5.

(7) 2R-4765 Washers
Install four 2R-4765 Washers (7) onto the top of bosses in the 347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp . Refer to Illustration 5.

(8) 7X-2534 Bolts
Install the radar (3) and mounting plate (6). Use four 7X-2534 Bolts (8) to secure the radar and mounting plate to the 347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp (1). Torque the 7X-2534 Bolts to 12 N m (106 lb in). Refer to Illustration 6.

347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp with Spacer Identification
After the spacers have been installed, make a mark (9) inside the enclosure, that will be visible from the exterior, indicating the rework for future reference. Refer to Illustration 7.

Install the cover on the 347-7919 Object Detection Box Gp . Torque the bolts to 4 N m (35 lb in) and then 8 N m (71 lb in) in a pattern as shown in Illustration 8.
Connect the electrical connection for the radar. Power on the system and ensure that there are no false detections.
