Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Note: Drain the crankcase while the oil is warm. This allows waste particles that are suspended in the oil to drain. As the oil cools, the waste particles will settle to the bottom of the crankcase. The particles will not be removed by draining the oil and the particles will recirculate in the engine lubrication system with the new oil.Note: Run the engine at low idle for at least ten minutes before performing any other operations every time the engine oil and oil filter are changed in order to protect your engine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine and Machine Warm-up".
Park the machine on a level surface. Stop the engine.
Open the right rear access door. Secure the access door.

Crankcase drain valve
Remove the cover under crankcase drain valve. Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" for information on Containing Fluid Spillage.
Open crankcase drain valve . Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Close crankcase drain valve. Note: Dispose of drained fluids according to local regulations.
Remove used oil filter (3). See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Oil Filter - Inspect". Note: Maintain the vertical position of the filter until you can dispose of the filter and oil properly. Tilting the filter will allow oil to run out of the filter.
Clean the housing base for the filter. Remove all of the old filter gasket.

Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the gasket of the new filter.
Install the new engine oil filter by hand until the filter housing contacts the base.
Do not overfill the crankcase. Engine damage can result.
Fill the crankcase with new oil. Note: Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)". Clean the oil filler plug and install the oil filler plug.
Do not under fill or overfill engine crankcase with oil. Either condition can cause engine damage.
Start the engine and allow the oil to warm. Check the engine for leaks. Stop the engine.

Wait for 30 minutes in order to allow the oil to drain back into the crankcase. Check the oil level. Maintain the oil level between the "ADD" mark and "FULL" mark on dipstick (2).
Install the cover under crankcase drain valve.
Close the access door.
