This Program must be administered as soon as possible.When reporting the repair, use "PI31768" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Codeand "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI31768" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number,"96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM
The train #3 planet carrier and shafts need to be updated on certain CX31 Retarder Transmissions due to premature failure. This rework will increase the lube to the planetary.

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the CX31 On-Highway Transmission "Disassembly and Assembly Manual" for the instructions on the removal and installation of the train # 3 assembly. Removal of the rear cover will provide access to train #3. Complete disassembly will not be required unless contamination/failure of the planet shafts are identified.
