Paging Notification
Paging can be configured to broadcast calls to all listed on paging receipt. Also, paging can be configured to broadcast calls in a mode that escalates if no return call is made in a given time. The system will continue to dial the numbers that are on the list up to 200 times. Dialing continues until the UPS is contacted by personnel that are using UPSView via the Internet or a phone line. The procedure is used in order to ensure that the issue is addressed. Users may individually enable paging or disable paging for alarm events or notice events separately.Numeric Paging - The system will leave a UPS code number, a call-back number, and a notice or an alarm code. The information is used in order to indicate the severity of problem.Alphanumeric Paging - The system will provide a description of the product, the cause of the alarm, the serial number, the location, and the telephone number to call.The modem option requires an analog phone line connection. The UPSView option is recommended for confirmation.The external modem option that is available with the UPS is the 3 Com U.S. Robotics Courier V.
