Changing Between Automatic Mode and Manual Mode
The control will not function in the automatic mode until the following conditions are met:
The NOx sensor is ready.
The inlet manifold pressure reaches a minimum of 75 kPa (absolute pressure).
The engine speed is greater than 1000 RPM.This is approximately 50 percent engine load. After automatic control is established, the control is maintained until the inlet manifold pressure becomes less than 65 kPa (absolute pressure). This allows automatic control for low loads.
"AUTO OPER" key - To enter the automatic mode, press the "AUTO OPER" key.In the automatic mode, the control sends the fuel valve to the default position if the engine is not loaded. If the engine is running and the engine is not loaded, the control will not permit a transition from manual mode to automatic mode. The control will not permit a transition from manual mode to automatic mode because the motor for the fuel valve would be moved to the default START position. This may disrupt the operation of the engine.When the engine is not running, you can freely move from manual mode to automatic mode. Automatic mode is locked out only when the engine is running and the engine is not loaded. This prevents an abrupt change in the fuel valve position in order to avoid erratic engine response.
"MAN OPER" key - To enter the manual mode, press the "MAN OPER" key.When the control is in the manual mode, the "ALARM" LED will blink. The air/fuel ratio and the exhaust NOx are not controlled by the system. The "ALARM" LED is intended to remind the operator of the condition.
