Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Disconnect the fuel line from the filter at the inlet of the fuel injection pump housing.
Install a tee at the inlet and connect the fuel line to the tee.
Connect a pressure gauge to the tee and start the engine.If the fuel pressure is not above 75 kPa (10.9 psi) perform the following steps.
Stop the engine.
Replace the fuel filter.
Check the inlet screen on the fuel transfer pump for debris.
Check the fuel lines in order to ensure that the fuel lines are not plugged.
Ensure that the fuel lines are not damaged.
Start the engine and again check the fuel pressure.If the fuel pressure is below 75 kPa (10.9 psi) the fuel transfer pump is faulty.
Repair the fuel transfer pump.
Replace the fuel transfer pump.
