Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.Cooling System Coolant Additive contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Park the machine on a level surface. Engage the parking brake and stop the engine.

789D machines equipped with a 3516C engine will have one cooling system circuit. These 789D machines are equipped with air-to air aftercoolers (ATAAC).
(1) Filler (pressure) cap for the engine cooling circuit

789D machines equipped with a 3516B engine will have a two cooling system circuits. These 789D machines are equipped with a separate (jacket water) circuit aftercooler (SCAC).
(1) Filler (pressure) cap for the engine cooling circuit
(2) Filler (pressure) cap for the aftercooling circuit
Remove the filler cap/caps slowly in order to relieve the pressure.
Clean the filler cap/caps with a clean cloth.
Inspect the filler cap/caps for damage, for foreign material, and for deposits. If necessary, replace the filler cap with a new filler cap.
Install the filler cap/caps.
