Text messaging icon - Hovering over the icon will tell you that you have new text messages available.When a machine is added, updated, archived, or restored, the list of machines that are available for text messaging will be updated accordingly.The text-messaging feature is designed to reflect the actual radio status of the machine (green or not green). However, there may be edge cases where some of the connections will take up to three minutes to detect and sync-up to reflect the actual machine radio connection status. The user should use the text-messaging "refresh" feature to refresh or synchronize the machine account statuses manually if the text messaging sub-system is reporting the wrong statuses.Creating and Sending Text Messages
Perform the following procedure to send text messages:
In the Control Center, click "Text Messaging".
Double-click the machine of the operator you wish to message. A green icon in the status column indicates that the operator is available for messaging. A tab for that machine opens on the right.
In the Message panel at the bottom of the screen, type in your message. There is a limit of 480 characters.
From the drop-down list, select the response you wish to receive. If "None" is selected, the machine operator is required to respond using free-form text with the on-board keyboard.
Click "Send". The response will display in the same window.

Warning pop-up message
If you send a text message to a machine when the communication system is down, the system will retry sending the message three times. If sending the message is not successful, a job failure notification is displayed in the "Transfer Status" panel on File Manage. A warning pop-up message is displayed. Refer to Illustration 1.Note: Using multiple tabs or browsers on the same system is not supported and may cause issues where tabs are in an inconsistent state from each other.Sending Text Messages to Multiple Machines
Perform the following procedure to send text messages to multiple machines:Note: You cannot include off-line/shutdown machines in a group message.
In the Control Center, click "Text Messaging".
Press "Ctrl" and click the machines you wish to send the message to, or press "Shift" and click the first and last machine of a block of machines. The "Group Message" panel displays on the right.
In the "Message" panel, type in your message. There is a limit of 480 characters.

Click "Send". The response will display in the same window.
