BOLT 1072091 - Caterpillar

Locate the machine on a hard surface that is smooth and level in order to use tooling (A) .

Place tooling (A) under front center bottom guard (2). Tooling (A) should be placed under the front center guard or a hoist should be attached to the two eyes. Remove two hinge pins (6). Remove four nuts ( 5) and remove the washers. Lower and remove the front center bottom guard.

Place tooling (A) under front bottom guard (5). Remove six bolts (1) and remove the washers. Remove the two nuts (2) and remove the washers. Lower and remove the front bottom guard.

Place tooling (A) under rear center bottom guard (8) or attach a hoist to the eyes. Remove two hinge pins (6). Remove four nuts (7) and remove the washers. Lower and remove the rear center bottom guard.

Place tooling (A) under rear bottom guard (8) or attach a hoist to the eyes. Remove hinge pin (6). Remove four nuts (7) and remove the washers. Lower and remove the rear bottom guard.Installation Procedure

Use a suitable lifting device to place rear bottom guard (9) on tooling (A) or attach a hoist to the eyes. Move tooling (A) forward. Raise the guard onto bolts (11). Install hinge pin (6). Install four washers and install four nuts (12). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 370 50 N m (270 40 lb ft).

Use a suitable lifting device to place rear center bottom guard (9) on tooling (A) or attach a hoist to the eyes. Move tooling (A) forward. Raise the guard onto bolts (11). Install two hinge pins (6). Install four washers and install four nuts (12). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 370 50 N m (270 40 lb ft).

Use a suitable lifting device to place front bottom guard (13) on tooling (A). Move tooling (A) backward. Raise the guard onto bolts (14). Install six bolts (1) and install the washers. Install two washers and install two nuts (2). Tighten the bolts and tighten the nuts to a torque of 370 50 N m (270 40 lb ft).

Use a suitable lifting device to place front center bottom guard (16) on tooling (A) or attach a hoist to the eyes. Move tooling (A) backward. Raise the guard onto bolts (18). Install two hinge pins (6). Install four washers and install four nuts (19). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 370 50 N m (270 40 lb ft).
