36. Remove four O-ring seals (84) from between the two main valve housings. The following steps are for the assembly of the main control valve.
Be sure all parts of the main control valve are thoroughly clean and free of dirt and debris. Remove any scratches or burrs from valve components with polishing paper or an oil stone. Check the condition of all O-ring seals, back-up rings and springs. If any of the components are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Put clean hydraulic oil on the components of the valve as they are being installed. Be sure to install all parts in their original locations.
37. Install O-ring seals (84) in main valve housing (81). Put housing (82) in position on housing (81). Install four socket head bolts (83). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 170 5 N m (127 2 lb ft). 38. Install the O-ring seal on plug (80). Install the plug in the main valve housing, and tighten it to a torque of 80 2 N m (62 2 lb ft). 39. Assemble negative control relief valves (74) and (79) in the reverse order of disassembly. Tighten plug (78) to a torque of 95 5 N m (67 2 lb ft). Install both negative control relief valves, and tighten them to a torque of 95 5 N m (67 2 lb ft).40. Assemble left hand check valve assembly (73) in the reverse order of disassembly. Install the left hand check valve assembly, and tighten it to a torque of 64 5 N m (46 3 lb ft). 41. Install the two O-ring seals and the back-up ring on plug (72). Install the plug in the main valve housing, and tighten it to a torque of 80 2 N m (62 2 lb ft).42. Install the two O-ring seals on plug (71). Install the plug in the main valve housing, and tighten it to a torque of 64 5 N m (46 3 lb ft).
Typical Example In Photo C30064P1, item (69) is not used on E240C and EL240C Excavators.43. Install O-ring seal (70) on stick overload relief valves (66), main relief valve (67) and bucket overload relief valves (68). Install the valves in the main valve housing, and tighten them to a torque of 80 2 N m (62 2 lb ft). 44. Install O-ring seal (62) on plug (65). Install the plug, spring (64) and poppet (63) in the main valve housing. Tighten the plug to a torque of 64 5 N m (46 3 lb ft). 45. Assemble check valve assembly (61). Install the poppet, spring and plug in the valve. Install the valve, spring and plug in plug (58). Install O-ring seal (59) on plug (58). Install check valve assembly (61), spring (60) and plug (58) in the main valve housing. Tighten the plug to a torque of 130 5 N m
