(A)     138-7573     Link Bracket     2    Note: The following procedure is for the removal of the hydraulic oil filter group. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Maintenance Interval Schedule" for complete details regarding servicing the hydraulic oil filter group.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oils can cause burns.To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuit (boom, stick, bucket, and swing), travel circuits, and the hydraulic oil tank at the filler cap before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch.
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" in this manual.

Open the right rear access door of the machine.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is 370 L (98 US gal).

Remove bolts and washers (1) that secure support (2) to the machine. Remove the support from the machine.

Loosen clamps (3). Remove hose assembly (4) from hydraulic oil filter group (5) .

Remove mounting bolts (6) and the washers that hold pilot oil filter (7) to hydraulic oil filter group (5). Position the pilot oil filter out of the way.
Remove mounting bolts (8) and the washers that hold the mounting bracket for case drain filter (9) to hydraulic oil filter group (5). Position the case drain filter out of the way.
Oil will drain from the connection of each hose assembly at the hydraulic oil filter group. Place a suitable pan under the hydraulic oil filter group in order to collect oil.

Disconnect electrical connectors (10) .

Fasten Tooling (A) to hydraulic oil filter group (5), as shown. Attach lifting straps and a hoist to Tooling (A). Put slight lifting tension on the hydraulic oil filter group.

Remove bolts (11) and the washers that hold hydraulic oil filter group (5) to the hydraulic oil tank.
Carefully remove hydraulic oil filter group (5) from the machine. The weight of the hydraulic oil filter group is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).
