3. Disconnect oil outlet and oil suction lines (1) from the pilot pump. On installing the pilot pump, make sure the O-ring seal is in place on the front of the pump.4. Remove bolts (3) and pilot pump (2). To install pilot pump, reverse the removal steps.Disassemble Pilot Pump
Start By:a. remove pilot pump Scribe a line on the pump body to aid in the assembly of the pump. 1. Remove pump adapter (1) from the pump shaft. 2. Remove O-ring seal (2). 3. Remove nuts and washers (3). 4. Remove cover (4) from the pump sections. 5. Remove seal assembly (5) from the end cover. 6. Remove lip seal (6) from the end cover. 7. Remove snap ring (7) with pliers (A). Remove the seal. 8. Remove pressure plate (8). 9. Remove drive gear (9) and idler gear (10). 10. Remove studs (11). 11. Remove pump body (12). 12. Remove pressure plate (13). 13. Remove seal assembly (14).Assemble Pilot Pump
1. Install seal assembly (1) with the O-ring next to the flange. 2. Install pressure plate (2) on flange with the brass side up. Make an alignment of notch on pressure plate with the notch on the pump flange. 3. Install pump body (3) over the pressure plate. Make an alignment of the notches on pump flange, pressure plate and pump body. 4. Install the studs (4) and tighten them to a torque of 41 7 N m (30 5 lb ft). 5. Install drive gear (5) and idler gear (6) in the pump. 6. Install pressure plate (7) with the brass side down. Make an alignment of the notches on the pump parts. 7. Install seal (9) in the end cover with tool group (A). Install the seal with the lip toward the inside. Install snap ring (8) with tool (B). 8. Install the other seal in end cover with tool group (A). Install the seal with the lip toward the inside of the pump. 9. Install seal assembly (10) on the end cover with O-ring next to the cover. 10. Install end cover (11) on the pump. Make sure all notches on the pump parts are in alignment. 11. Install nuts (12) that hold end cover to the pump body. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 81 7 N m (60 5 lb ft). 12. Install O-ring seal (13) on the end cover. 13. Install pump adapter (14) on the shaft.End By:a. install pilot pump
