(3) 457-6114 Datalink Cable
(4) 370-4617Cable Assembly (CA3 PC USB Cable)When using Cat® ET to diagnose machines covered in this manual, cable assembly 457-6114 is required. This harness allows connections between a 9-Pin Port Connector or a 14-Pin Service Port Connector with ethernet and the Communication Adapter 3 module.The new 14-Pin Service Port Connector is designed to work with machines that use a 9-pin Service Port Connector. The new 14-Pin Service Port Connector includes an Ethernet port connector which allows for flashing software using Ethernet. These machines require the use of the 14-Pin Service Connector Cable for the CA3 Communication adapter.

(1) 457-6114 Cable AsCaterpillar® Electronic Technician (Cat® ET) is a software program that is used to access data. The service technician will use the Cat ET to perform the maintenance on the vehicle. Some of the options that are available with the Cat ET are:
Diagnosis of problems
Viewing diagnostic trouble codes
Viewing active event codes and logged event codes
View the status of parameters.
Clear active diagnostic trouble codes and clear logged diagnostic trouble codes
Calibrate the machine systems.
Program the ECU (Flash) with the "WINflash" program. Refer toTesting and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Unit - Flash Program".
