1. Install cage (4) without shims (1).2. Install three bolts (2) without lockwashers. Tighten the bolts evenly until the end play of shaft (3) is zero.3. Measure the gap between the face of cage (4) and the face of the case with a feeler gauge. Measure the gap at each of the bolts. Find the average gap.4. Install an amount of shims (1) between the cover and the case so their thickness is 0.08 mm (.003 in.) to 0.18 mm (.007 in.) more than the gap measured.5.
