The event code will be displayed on a diagnostic screen of the CAT ET.The ECM will generate a SPN 111-FMI 01 event code on the J1939 data link. The event code may be displayed on a receiving device for the J1939 data link.The ECM will generate a 62 flash code that will be displayed on the diagnostic lamp.
There may be a problem with the cooling system.Test Step 1. Check the Level of the Engine Coolant
Pressurized System: Hot coolant can cause serious burns. To open the cooling system filler cap, stop the engine and wait until the cooling system components are cool. Loosen the cooling system pressure cap slowly in order to relieve the pressure.
Check the level of the engine coolant. The coolant must completely cover the coolant level switch. Refer to the appropriate topic in Testing and Adjusting for information about problems with the cooling system.Expected Result:There are no problems with the cooling system.Results:
