Relay Settings (Maintenance Bypass Circuit Breaker)The Time Delay Relay is comprised of the following components: digital circuitry and a separate oscillator. These components provide high accuracy and stability. The time delay is selected with ten binary switches (1) that are located on the front of the unit. Sliding a switch to the right will allow the time of the delay to be activated by the number of seconds that correspond to the number that is located to the left of the switch that is selected. More than one switch can be selected in order to add additional seconds to the time delay. Additionally, the red LED (2) is illuminated when the relay is in a time delay.

Left Panel Components (Maintenance Bypass Cabinet) (3) Controller Board (MBC) (4) Power Supply Board (MPS) (5) Time Delay RelayThe Time Delay Relay is powered by the Maintenance Bypass Power Supply Board that is located above Time Delay Relay on the left panel.The function of the Time Delay Relay is to correct a fault condition where both the Maintenance Bypass Circuit Breaker and the K5 Circuit Breaker get closed at the same time and stay closed. If both breakers are closed for the amount of time set on the relay, the relay will time out and will provide a trip function to the K5 breaker thereby removing the fault condition.The relay comes from the factory set to 4 seconds and should not be changed.Replacing the base is not necessary (6) if only the relay needs to be replaced.Removal

Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Maintenance Bypass Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.
Pull back the steel clamps (7) that hold the Relay (8) to the base (6) .
Remove the Relay (8) from the base (6) by pulling the Relay (8) straight off. Replacing the base is not required (6) if the only the Relay (8) needs replacement.
Loosen the six wires that are connected to the base (6) .
Remove the six wires that are connected to the base (6) .
Remove the base (6) by loosening the two cross tip screws that hold the base (6) and the clamps to the cabinet.Installation

Orient the base (6) to the cabinet so that the screw holes line up and notch on the inner cylinder is on top.
Insert the two cross tip screws through the holes in the clamps, then insert the screws though the attachment holes of the base (6) so that the clamps are on the outside.
Tighten the base (6) to the cabinet.
Connect the six wires to the screw contacts on base (6) .Refer to the wire labels and the circuit diagram (9) on the Relay (8) and Illustration 5.
Connect the Relay (8) to the base (6) by spreading the clamps and sliding the pins straight into the base
