Turn bumpers (P) in completely and turn the bumpers that are located on the ladder in also. This procedure will prevent damage and misalignment to the system.
Remove one nut (S), washer (R), spring (T) and washer (U) .

Slide sleeve (6) over the pin small bore first. Reassemble one washer (U), spring (T), washer (R) and nut (S). Tighten nut (S) until all threads are engaged.
Energize the machine and use the key pad to extend out the actuator. When the rod in the actuator is fully extended, a ratcheting sound will occur. This sound will verify that the internal clutch is slipping.
Once the clutch noise is verified, retract the rod. No noise should be made when the rod is fully retracted to the LADDER UP Position. The actuators internal limit switch will turn off the actuator when the ladder reaches the UP Position. If the actuator makes a ratcheting noise when fully retracted, the new actuator will need replaced.

With the ladder still in the down position, extend the rod back out using the keypad button on the machine.
Pin new actuator assembly (7) at the rod end to the ladder assembly. Use retained pin (D), retained washer (E) and one new cotter pin (5). Make sure that the pin is facing machine rear as shown in the Illustration above.

The bottom edge of the sensor and the bottom edge of the aluminum magnet should be in line (V) .
Actuate the ladder towards the UP Position to verify that the "Ladder Up" switch assembly orientation (V) is correct. If the ladder Up switch is not oriented as shown in callout (V), refer to Step 25.
Raise the ladder to the UP Position, if a ratcheting noise occurs then adjust the turnbuckle as shown in Step 25.

If the "Ladder Up" switch assembly orientation (V) is incorrect or a ratcheting noise occurs, then lower the ladder and adjust the turnbuckle. Loosen both lock nuts (X) and adjust the turn buckle (W) in or out as required. Repeat this sequence until the proper setting is accomplished.
Once the "Ladder Up" switch assembly orientation (V) and no ratcheting noise have been verified, the bumpers will have to be set. Set the bumpers in both the Ladder UP Position and the ladder Down Position. When the ladder is in the UP Position, the bumpers must contact the ladder rails. When the ladder is DOWN Position, the ladder bumpers must contact the frame. (Finger tight only and then lock nut in place).
