These refinements make it possible to adjust the high idle engine rpm to a precise level from a remote area. Engines with the former components and adjustments can be easily updated to these changes.Adaptable To: Former versions of the 4W9186, 2W3469, and 8N2365 Governor Control Groups used on the above engines can be updated by making the changes described for each of the groups. Make sure that the linkage does not go over center because the raise and lower directions will be reversed. 4W9186 Governor Control Group Changes
To update the 4W9186 Governor Control Group used on 3304B and 3306B Engines, make the following changes.
1. Adjust the handle so that it is vertical at low idle. The handle must be in the right hand notch of the quadrant and within 5° of vertical. See Illustration 1.2. Make sure that the rod ends of the linkage are attached to the correct holes in the levers. See Illustration 2.
Illustration 1. Handle location at low idle.3. With the handle in the right hand notch of the quadrant, adjust the linkage so that point (A) is 3.0 1.5 mm (.12 .06") above the line from point (B) to point (C) when the engine is at rated load and rpm. See Illustration 2.

To update the 2W3469 Governor Control Group used on 3406B Engines, make the following changes.
1. Replace the former 6S4454 Rod with a new 1L2313 Rod. See Illustration 3.2. Adjust the angles and rod length as shown in Illustration 3.Angles and rod length for 60 HZ rating: ... Angle (D)...44°... Angle (E)...14° 2°... Angle (F)...60°... Angle (G)...5°... Length (H)...182 2 mm (7.2 .1")

1. Install the new parts listed in the chart.2. Adjust the rod length and angle as shown in Illustration 4.
