( 1 ) The optional tools can be used in place of the digital pressure measurement tools which are specified in the required tool list.
Park the machine on a smooth, horizontal surface in an open area.

Move propulsion lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

Move cab position switch (3) to the RIGHT position. Release the switch when the operator's control console reaches the right side of the machine.
Stop the engine.
Raise the left hand deck access panel.

Place a piece of reflective tape (4) from Tool (B) on the end of one of the fan blades.

Disconnect fan control solenoid (5) .

Install Tool (A) on pressure tap (6) .

Start the engine. Move throttle switch (7) to the HIGH IDLE position. The engine speed should be 2000 50 rpm.
Operate the engine at HIGH IDLE position. Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature on oil temperature gauge (8). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43° 5.6°C (110° 10°F).
Use Tool (B) to measure the fan speed. The fan speed should be 1170 25 rpm. If the fan speed is within the specified range, go to Step 20. If the fan speed is outside the specified range, go to Step 13.
Move throttle switch (6) to LOW IDLE position. Stop the engine.

Loosen locknut (9) on fan pump control valve (10). In order to increase the fan speed, rotate adjustment screw (11) clockwise. In order to decrease the fan speed, rotate the adjustment screw counterclockwise.
Hold adjustment screw (11). Tighten locknut (9) .
Recheck the fan speed. Go to Step 12.

Read the pressure on pressure gauge (12). The pressure should be 20360 350 kPa (2950 50 psi).
If the pressure is outside the specified range, go to Step 19. If the pressure is within the specified range, go to Step 20.
Troubleshoot the fan pump, and troubleshoot the motor for inefficiency.
Move throttle switch (7) to LOW IDLE position. Stop the engine.
Remove the tooling. Reconnect connector (5) for the fan control solenoid.
Lower the left hand deck access panel next to the operator's station.
