Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Obtain a hydraulic oil sample before beginning the removal of the main control valve. The hydraulic oil sample will be used to establish a system contaminant level. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7421-00, "Sampling Interval and Location of Sampling Valve".
Drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the procedure. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is approximately 57 L (15 US gal).
Mark the location and orientation of each hose assembly on the main control valve. The marks will be used during the future installation of the main control valve.

Disconnect the hose assembly (1) through hose assembly (13) .

Loosen hose clamp (14). Remove two bolts (15) and remove assembled components (16) .

Disconnect hose assembly (17). Remove bolts (18) and disconnect tube assembly.
Remove bolts (19) and remove check valve (20) .

Disconnect hose assembly (21) through hose assembly (24) .

Disconnect hose assembly (25) through hose assembly (31) .

Remove bolt (32) and remove the bracket for the hose assembly.

Disconnect hose assembly (33) through hose assembly (39) and disconnect hose assembly (41). Disconnect tube assembly (40) .

Fasten Tooling (B) to the main control valve. Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (B). The control valve weighs approximately 88 kg (195 lb).

Remove four bolts (58) and remove the main control valve.
