Safety PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO CORRECT A WIRING PROBLEM IN THE LOAD DOOR SAFETY SWITCH AND AUTO START/STOP SWITCH ON CERTAIN XQ125, 200, AND 300 DUAL WOUND GENERATOR PACKAGES
1435 PI10103 This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI10103" as the Part number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI10103" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
PROBLEM
There is a wiring problem in the load door safety switch and the auto start/stop switch on XQ125, 200, and 300 dual wound generator packages. The problem is the wire placement in the eight-pin connector in the D.C. load pan wiring harness assembly. This connector attaches to the pigtail harness from the engine control panel. A potiential electrical shock hazard exists. When the load door is removed, it will not automatically shut off the circuit breakers. Another potential hazard is the loss of control to remotely start or stop the engine.

Adjustments need to be made on the products listed below. There is a wiring problem in the load door safety switch and the auto start/stop switch on XQ125, 200, and 300 dual wound generator packages. The problem is the wire placement in the eight-pin connector in the D.C. load pan wiring harness assembly. This connector attaches to the pigtail harness from the engine control panel. Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated November 9, 2001 when scheduling this service.
