Direct Injection, Naturally-Aspirated 3208 EnginesA new compression ring is available for use on pistons in direct injection, naturally-aspirated 3208 Engines with excessive oil consumption problems.
This new 2W2178 Ring has a counterbore on the bottom edge of its face to improve oil control. It can be used with all the current piston designs for direct injection, naturally-aspirated 3208 Engines. For this reason, replacement pistons need not be installed.
The 2W2178 Ring is available in limited supply; it is for use only in engines which have excessive oil consumption problems. For general repairs and overhauls, use the standard compression ring which does not have the counterbore.
