When the UPS Flywheel bearings are replaced, you are required to replace both the upper and lower bearing assemblies. The serviceability history of the Flywheel bearings required the dealer to order two individual bearing assemblies. Each bearing assembly has a different part number. This method of serviceability allowed problems to occur. One problem involved sending one correct bearing assembly and one incorrect bearing assembly to the dealer. The other problem would involve a shortage of inventory of either the Upper or Lower bearing assembly. To prevent the reoccurrence of the problems listed above, the serviceability of the UPS Flywheel bearing assemblies have been corrected. A single Caterpillar part number has been provided for each version of the UPS Flywheel. The individual part numbers will provide the dealer with the correct upper and lower bearing assemblies. The serviceable UPS Bearing Kits will ensure that the dealer receives a matched set of bearings for the version of UPS Flywheel that needs to be serviced.The following tables list the serviceable UPS Flywheel Bearing Kits that are available.
