Establish a 30.5 m (100 ft) straight speed test course in an area of loosely compacted soil. Make sure the course provides sufficient distance for the machine to reach automatic vibration speed before it passes the starting line and sufficient distance for the machine to be stopped after the finish line is passed.

Move engine start switch (1) to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.
Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Move throttle control switch (2) to the HIGH IDLE position.
Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (A). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43 5.6 °C (110 10 °F).

Move vibratory mode switch (3) to the AUTOMATIC position.

Move travel speed switch (7) to the LOW SPEED position.
Rotate automatic speed control dial (5) to the MAXIMUM position.
Move parking brake switch (6) to the OFF position.
Back the machine up far enough to reach minimum automatic vibration speed before the start line. Slowly increase machine speed, until the vibratory system starts automatically. When the automatic vibration starts, maintain this speed through the test.
Use Tool (B) to time the machine through the 30.5 m (100 ft) course. The machine should complete the course in 40.0 2.0 seconds.
Repeat the test in reverse. The forward and reverse times should be within 2.0 seconds of each other.
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.
Move propel lever (4) to the NEUTRAL position.
Move parking brake switch (6) to the ON position.
Move throttle control switch (2) to the LOW IDLE position.
Move engine start switch (1) to the OFF position.
If the automatic vibration speed measured in Step 10 and in Step 11 is not within specification, or a different value is desired, the value can be adjusted with the service tool software.Note: The time specification for this test is based on initial factory settings. The value may be different if this parameter has been adjusted by the customer.
