Remove the 4V-1939 Clamps (Bracket) from the brackets on the frame and the brackets on the lifting arm. Refer to Illustration 1 and Illustration 2.Note: Do not discard the 4V-1939 Clamps (Bracket). Bracket clamps will be reinstalled in Step 6 and Step 7.
Remove 228-7285 Sensor Harness Assembly .
Install 278-7075 Bracket (Frame) (1) to weld mount on the frame. Refer to Illustration 3.
Install 278-7076 Bracket (Lifting Arm) (2) to weld mount on Lifting Arm. Refer to Illustration 4.
Install 278-7074 Harness Assembly .
The end of the harness with the green tape nearest to the end of the protective hose (approximately 87 mm (3.4 inches)) should be installed into the Frame connector (1). Refer to Illustration 1.
The remaining end of the harness should be installed into the Lifting Arm connector.
Reinstall the 4V-1939 Clamp (Bracket) that was removed from the Frame in Step 1. Refer to Illustration 1.
Reinstall the 4V-1939 Clamp (Bracket) that was removed from the Lifting Arm in Step 1. Refer to Illustration 2.
Perform a lift test in order to ensure that the harness routing is not pinched, the harness routing is not rubbing on a sharp edge, the harness routing is not hanging up, or that the protective hose is not twisted.
Personal injury or death can result from being too close to machine during test.Make sure all personnel that are not approved are kept off the machine and in view of the operator during test, because the machine could move.Stay clear of the machine when taking readings for the machine.
Personal injury or death can result from a bucket falling.Keep personnel away from the front of the machine when lowering the bucket.
