Storage and transportation of small engine parts can be a problem during engine reconditioning, especially if these parts need to be cleaned. The FT1319 Hardware and Assembly Chart Rack is now available to keep small parts together as they are transported and used to assemble an engine. Several rack arrangements are possible with the FT1319 Drawing.
Illustration 1 shows the base, rack, pedestal and basic dimensions of the large model. The pedestal can be adjusted or removed and is used to hold parts baskets at the correct work height (Illustration 2). It can also be used as a handle to push the rack through the shop. The rack can be made with legs for use without the base. This gives the rack clearance from the floor and makes it easier to transport with a lift truck (Illustration 4).

Parts basket at convenient work height.A smaller rack can also be made from this FT Drawing, which holds fewer parts baskets and has a non-adjustable (not able to be adjusted) pedestal (Illustration 3). Parts baskets may be placed on the base of this rack. The smaller rack is normally fitted with a three ring binder on the pedestal to hold assembly charts.
When these racks are used, identification marks must be placed on each parts basket to give an indication of where the parts are used on the engines. Drawings for the FT1319 Hardware and Assembly Chart Rack can be ordered from your Divisional Service Manager.
