Click "FINISH" to complete the setup wizard. Open the PowerVision Field Programming Kit to continue. Refer to Illustration 7.PowerVision Field Programming Kit - First Time Use
Open the PowerVision Field Programming Kit. A window, as shown in Illustration 8 will appear.

Click the down arrow (6) to access the drop-down menu for the "Hardware Type". Select "Mono Displays". Refer to Illustration 8.
Click the down arrow (7) to access the drop-down menu for the "Communication Type" selections. Select "RP1210Conduit". Refer to Illustration 8.

Click the "SETUP" (8) button to set up the communication connection between the computer and the MECP I. Refer to Illustration 9.
Using the drop-down menu to change the following fields:
Adapter: Caterpillar, Caterpillar CA3 (9)
Port: USB (10)
CAN Address of Target: 255 (11)
Station Address: 0 (13)

Press "OK" (12) to save the changes.Note: After the "OK" (12) is pressed, the initial setup of the PowerVision Field Programming Kit will be completed. Refer to Illustration 10.Flash Program the MECP I
There are two main steps of installing software on the MECP I that will ensure the proper functionality of the display. The steps are referred to as the "Boot Loader" and "Software Configuration".The "Boot Loader" and "Software Configuration" files can be downloaded from SIS Web. The files are found by using a seven-digit part number. Refer to Table 1.

To place the MECP I into boot mode, rotate the selector switch to the Local mode. Then during startup, press and hold the bottom half of buttons 18 and 23.

Once in boot mode, the screen shown in Illustration 12 will be displayed.

After the MECP I has been put in boot mode, start the PowerVision field programming kit. A window, as shown in Illustration 13 will appear.
