PRIORITY - PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING THE 2519831 C-FRAME
MODELS INVOLVED - CERTAIN D6R TRACK-TYPE TRACTORS
Dear Cat Product Owner:
The 2519831/">251-9831 C-Frame needs to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing C-Frame may crack during machine operation and lead to machine downtime. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 06Oct2015 when scheduling this service.
We regret the inconvenience this may cause you, but urge you to have this service performed as soon as possible to prevent unscheduled downtime.

Rework Procedure
Refer to REHS8548, Special Instruction, "Installation of the 6A (S/N: RTH) Bulldozer on a D6R2 and D6R Track-Type Tractor", section "Manual Tilt Cylinder Installation", in order to complete this Rework Procedure.
Note:
- The new C-Frame will be sent directly to dealer from the factory.
- The dealer is required to return the replaced C-Frame back to factory by using packaging from new part. Refer to the Parts Disposition for additional important information.
- A record of the C-Frame serial numbers will be provided with the new C-Frame for cross reference.
Note: Refer to the parts list in Image1.1.1 for replacement and reused parts.

C-Frame Disassembly:
1. Hold the frame on a lifting device. Refer to Image1.1.2 marked 1.
2. Disassemble the rod cylinder from the frame group. Remove the 8T-0362 Bolts, 8E-9212 Shims, 6V-7742 Nuts, and the 4J-0121 Cap Bearing, then move the cylinder up. Refer to Image1.1.2 marked 2.
3. Disassemble the frame from the trunnion. Remove the 251-9836 Cap Bearing, 7X-2567 Bolts, 8T-4167 Washers, 4T-4866 Shims, and 251-8203 Nuts for both LH and RH side. Refer to Image1.1.2 marked 3.

C-Frame Installation:
1. Move the 2519831/">251-9831 Frame Group with the lifting device.
2. Install the 251-9836 Cap Bearing into the trunnion with 7X-2567 Bolts, 251-8203 Nuts, and 8T-4167 Washers with the 4T-4866 Shims for adjustment.
3. Tighten the 7X-2567 Bolts to a specified torque of 900 +/- N.m.
4. Install the rod cylinder radiator on the C-Frame group with the 4J-0121 Cap Bearing, 8T-0362 Bolts, and 6V-7742 Nuts with the 8E-9212 Shims for adjustment.
5. Tighten the 8T-0362 Bolts to a specified torque of 460 +/- 60 N.m.
