Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the aftercooler.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (2) and cover (1).

Disconnect line (6) and line (8), position out of the way.
Remove line (3), line (7), and line (9).
Remove bolt (5) and line (4).

Remove clamp (12), bolts (78), and tube assembly (14).
Remove clamp (15), bolts (11), clamp (77), and tube assembly (13).
Remove clamp (16), bolt (10), clamp (18), and tube assembly (17).

Remove bolts (19) and bolts (21).
Remove cover (22) and cover (20).

Remove bolts (23), connector (25), and seal (24).

Remove fuel line support (28).
Disconnect fuel lines (26) and (27) and position out of the way.

Remove bolts (29) and the retainers.
Remove tube elbow (30).

Remove shield assembly (67) and shield assembly (68).

Remove bolts (71) and shield assembly (70).
Remove bolts (73) and shield assembly (72).

Remove bolts (75). Pry elbows (76) away from air inlet manifold (74).
Remove bolts (77).
Attach a suitable lifting device to air inlet manifold (74). The weight of the 3508C air inlet manifold is approximately 40 kg (88 lb). The weight of the 3512C air inlet manifold is approximately 65 kg (145 lb). The weight of the 3516C air inlet manifold is approximately 90 kg (200 lb).
Remove air inlet manifold (74). Remove the O-ring seals from elbows (76).Installation Procedure

Apply Tooling (A) to threads and bearing surfaces of the heat shield bolts

Install the O-ring seals on elbows (76). Apply a light amount of glycerin to the bores for the O-ring seals.
Attach a suitable lifting device to air inlet manifold (74). The weight of the 3508C air inlet manifold is approximately 40 kg (88 lb). The weight of the 3512C air inlet manifold is approximately 65 kg (145 lb). The weight of the 3516C air inlet manifold is approximately 90 kg (200 lb).
Position air inlet manifold (74) and install bolts (77).
Position elbows (76) and install bolts (75).
