Information:

24. Remove bolts (20). Remove cap (21) and shims. Remove lower cap from the upper hitch group. 25. Remove lip type seals (22) from the caps. 26. Fasten a hoist to tooling (E). Use tooling (E) to remove the bearing cups and cones from the upper hitch group. 27. Fasten a hoist to tooling (F). Use tooling (F) to remove the bearing from the upper hitch group. 28. Remove spacer (23) from the lower hitch group. 29. Remove bolts (24). Remove caps (25) and the shims from under the upper cap. 30. Remove lip type seals (26) from the caps. 31. Fasten a hoist to tooling (G). Use tooling (G) to remove the bearing cups and cones from the lower hitch group.Connection Of Main Frames
1. Make sure the bores of the hitch group are clean and free of all dirt and foreign material. 2. Put bottom cap (4) in position on the rear main frame of the lower hitch group. Install four bolts and washers at even spaces to hold the cap. Put five 4B4280 Washers (3) on each bolt as shown.3. Lower the temperature of the bottom bearing cup to -103°F 9°F (-75°C 5°C). Install the bottom bearing cup. Use tooling (A) to make sure the bearing cup is in contact with the bottom cap.4. Put clean SAE 30 oil on the bearing cones. Install bearing cones (2) in the bore of the lower hitch group.5. Lower the temperature of the top bearing to -103°F 9°F (-75°C 5°C). Install top bearing cup (1). 6. Hold the bottom cap in position. Remove the four bolts and washers that hold it. Install the original amount of shims and top cap (5). Remove the 4B4280 Washers from the bolts and install the four bolts and washers in the caps as shown.7. Install tooling (B) on the bearing cones. Check the amount of torque needed to slowly turn the bearing cones. The correct torque is 8 to 29 lb.ft. (11 to 40 N m). Add or remove shims to get the correct torque. Add shims to decrease the torque. Remove shims to increase the torque. 8. Remove the caps from the lower hitch group. Use tooling (A) to install the lip type seals in the caps. Install the seal in the bottom cap with the lip toward the outside of the cap. Install the seal in the top cap with the lip toward the inside of the cap. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease on the lips of the seals.9. Install the caps on the lower hitch group. Install the bolts and washers that hold them. 10. Install spacer (6) in the lower hitch group. 11. Lower the temperature of bearing (7). Install the bearing in the upper hitch group of the rear main frame even with the surface of the main frame. 12. Put the bottom cap of the upper hitch group in position on the front main frame. Install three bolts (8) and washers that are
