Introduction
This troubleshooting manual can aid the technician in locating the causes of existing problems with the engine. Several of the common problems are covered in the troubleshooting procedures. The problems are in no significant order.First identify the type of protection system that is installed on the engine. The two systems are the Full Protection System and the Partial Protection System. Use the appropriate index to locate the problem with the engine. When you begin the procedure for the problem, start with Step 1 and follow the exact procedure. The steps provide a definite sequence that should be followed in order to eliminate the variables in a logical sequence. The steps are arranged in order. The most common problems that are easiest to check are listed first. The less common problems that are more difficult to check are listed last.When the cause of the problem is found, correct the problem and stop the test. Do not continue through the complete procedure after the problem has been solved.Note: Before you perform the test procedures, ensure that the emergency stop (ES), the electronic speed switch (ESS), and all of the circuit breakers have been reset. The circuit breakers are on the front of the junction box and in the electrical system.
