New 10R-3139 Lifter As and new 10R-3140 Valve Lifter As are now available. The new lifter assemblies feature the following improvements.
Longer service life
Improved roller pin
Stronger pin
Improved retention of the pin inside the lifter bodyCaterpillar recommends replacing the camshafts with the same part number when you replace the 10R-3139 Lifter As and the 10R-3140 Valve Lifter As .The former part numbers listed in Table 1 have been cancelled and replaced by the new part numbers that are listed in Table 1.

Refer to Reuse and Salvage Guidelines, SEBF8146, "Visual Inspection of Camshafts" in order to see if the camshafts can be reused. Refer to Guideline For Reusable Parts And Salvage Operations, SEBF8191, "Camshaft Roller Followers 3500 Family of Engines " in order to see if the lifters can be reused.
