Working with electrical circuits is hazardous and exposes personnel to electrical potential. To ensure safe operation, personnel must be trained in proper operating procedures. Bodily contact with electrical potential will cause serious personal injury or death.
Starting up a Single UPS
Installation compliance with all local, state, and regional electrical codes and ordinances must be completed by a qualified person. The qualified person must be trained and certified in the installation of the UPS. Only trained personnel should operate the UPS.

UPS Switches (8) Q1: input switch for normal AC input (9) Q4S: input switch for bypass AC input (11) Q5N: UPS output switchVerify that switch "Q4S" (9) and switch "Q5N" (11) are in the OFF position. If the switches are not in the OFF position, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Return to Normal Operation".
Set the Normal AC source input switch Q1 (8) to the "ON" position. The UPS will begin a start-up routine. Wait until the screen stops changing signifying the end of the start-up routine.

User Machine Interface Display
Set the battery circuit breaker of the auxiliary cabinets to the "ON" position.The UPS starts automatically. LED (40) lights indicating that the load is protected by the UPS.If the LED (40) does not light, then press the "ON" button (47). The UPS is now in manual start mode. Confirm that the UPS is in manual start mode. Press the function key (44) that is next to the arrow that is on the screen.A fault has occurred if both of the following conditions are true:
The LED (40) is not on.
Either the LED (41) or the LED (42) is on.If a fault occurs, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Alarm Operation".Shutting Down a Single UPS
The UPS remains energized unless the UPS is shut down.
Press any Function button to exit sleep mode for the display.Note: If there is nothing displayed on the screen, the display may have entered sleep mode. Sleep mode is activated after a period of nonuse to lengthen the service life of the display.

Press the "OFF" button (46) for 3 seconds.The load is no longer protected by the UPS. The load is supplied via the static bypass.
Set the battery circuit breaker of the auxiliary cabinets to "OFF".

Set the input switch "Q1" (8) to "OFF".
To remove the power to the UPS completely, open the upstream circuit breakers of the following components:
Normal AC source
Bypass AC source
