(2) Groove for the 143-3629 O-Ring Seal.An improved 137-8231 Pipe replaced the former 107-8722 Pipe. The 137-8231 Pipe has an increased side load support area. The groove for the former 7E-8651 Seal has been eliminated.
The 137-8231 Pipe uses two 6V-3917 O-Ring Seals at each end.The 137-8231 Pipe has been canceled and replaced by an improved 141-7140 Pipe. The 141-7140 Pipe utilizes the high temperature O-ring groove. Like the 141-7142 Turbocharger Coupling, there is one groove for the 143-3629 O-Ring on each end of the pipe. Changes have been made to the Viton grooves for the 141-7140 Pipe. The depth of these grooves changed from a low position to a higher position. This optimizes the compression of the 6V-3917 O-Ring Seals.
Both the 6V-3917 O-Ring Seals and the 143-3629 O-Ring Seals should be lubricated with engine oil or any other type of oil lubricant prior to assembly.

(4) Previous position of the 6V-3917 O-Ring.An improved 137-8268 Turbocharger Coupling replaced the former 9Y-6663 Turbocharger Coupling. The 137-8268 Turbocharger Coupling has an improved bearing area and provides a lip for the application of 8T-9013 Silicon Sealant in place of the former 7E-8651 Seal.
The 137-8268 Turbocharger Coupling uses two 6V-3917 O-Ring Seals at each end.The 137-8268 Turbocharger Coupling has been canceled and replaced by the improved 141-7142 Turbocharger Coupling. The 141-7142 Turbocharger Coupling has a narrow groove added at each end in addition to the two grooves already present for the 6V-3917 O-Ring Seals at each end. This allows for placement of the 143-3629 O-Ring Seal. The improved 143-3629 O-Ring Seal is high temperature resistant. Illustration 3 shows the 141-7142 Turbocharger Coupling and the application point of the 8T-9013 Silicone Sealant.

(5) A 3 mm (.12 in) diameter amount of 8T-9013 Silicone Sealant is to be applied completely around the turbocharger coupling at this location.
