Hydraulic fan system
The components of the hydraulic fan system are the Engine Electronic Control Module (Engine ECM), the Power Train/Chassis Electronic Control Module (Power Train/Chassis ECM), the brake oil temperature sensor, the coolant temperature sensor, the inlet air temperature sensor, the fan drive speed sensor and the hydraulic fan solenoid

(7) Hydraulic fan solenoid With the battery disconnect switch in the ON position, 24 V power is supplied from the batteries to circuit breaker 1 and circuit breaker 4. Circuit breaker 1 supplies 24 V power to Power Train/Chassis ECM (1). Circuit breaker 4 supplies 24 V power to Engine ECM (2).With the key start switch in the ON position 24 V power is supplied from the batteries to circuit breaker 13 and circuit breaker 12. Circuit breaker 13 supplies 24 V power to Power Train/Chassis ECM (1). Circuit breaker 12 supplies 24 V power to Engine ECM (2). Power Train/Chassis ECM (1) supplies 8 V power to brake oil temperature sensor (3). Engine ECM (2) supplies 12 V power to hydraulic fan solenoid (7).With the engine running, coolant temperature sensor (4), intake air temperature sensor (5) and fan drive speed sensor (6) send signals to Engine ECM (2). Brake oil temperature sensor (3) sends a signal to Power Train/Chassis ECM (1) and then via the CAT Data Link to Engine ECM (2).Engine ECM (2) interprets the signals from coolant temperature sensor (4), intake air temperature sensor (5) and brake oil temperature sensor (3). As temperature increases or decreases, Engine ECM (2) sends a signal to hydraulic fan solenoid (7) in order to increase or decrease fan speed.
