Issues that involve the rear axle should be reported with a specific part number and a specific group number. This will ensure that the proper product groups are notified of the problem. The group numbers for the axle should not be used.To correctly report air in the brakes, use the part number of the brake master cylinder as the "part causing failure" and the brake control group as the group number. Do not use SMCS codes in place of the proper group number. The SMCS codes do not direct the report to the proper product groups.If there are issues with noisy brakes, the most likely cause is the lack of additive in the oil. To report this problem use the part number of the additive and the SMCS code number 7760. Since no failure is involved, the 7760 SMCS code number will provide an informational record that can be used to alert the factory. The additive is the 197-0017 Axle and Brake Oil Additive .To report oil issues such as level and contamination the SMCS code number 7760 should be used along with the oil part number. There is no failure that is involved with these two issues. Therefore, the informational record SMCS code number 7760 should be used as the group number. The oil is the 2P-9869 Oil .
