2. Disconnect pump outlet hose assembly (1) from the top of the charging pump. 3. Disconnect pump outlet hose assembly (2) from the front of the charging pump.4. Disconnect inlet tube assembly (5) from the charging pump.5. Remove two bolts (3) that hold transmission and torque converter charging pump (4) in position on the pump drive housing.6. The weight of the charging pump is 65 lb. (29.5 kg). Remove the pump from the pump drive housing.Install Transmission And Torque Converter Charging Pump
1. Install a new O-ring seal on the contact surface of the pump. 2. The weight of transmission and torque converter charging pump (3) is 65 lb. (29.5 kg). Lift the pump into position on the pump drive housing and install the two bolts that hold the pump in place.3. Install inlet tube assembly (2) on the rear of the charging pump. 4. Connect pump outlet hose assemblies (1) and (4) in their correct positions.5. Fill the transmission, brake and hoist hydraulic tank. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE for more information.6. Start the engine of the truck and make a check for oil leakage around the charging pump.Disassemble Transmission And Torque Converter Charging Pump
start by:a) remove transmission and torque converter charging pump For easier assembly, put a mark on the outer surface of each of the body assemblies of the pump to show their original location. 1. Remove O-ring seal (1) from cover assembly (2).2. Remove four bolts (3), four plain washers and eight neoprene washers that hold the pump together.3. Remove the cover assembly from the body assembly. 4. Remove lip type seal (4) from the cover assembly. 5. Remove O-ring seal (5) and two bearings (6) from the opposite side of the cover assembly. 6. Remove two gears (7) from the gear assemblies and body assembly (8). 7. Remove key (11) from drive gear assembly (9).8. Remove the body assembly from the drive gear assembly and driven gear assembly (10). 9. Remove O-ring seal (13) and two bearings (12) from the body assembly. 10. Remove drive gear assembly (9), driven gear assembly (10) and body assembly (14) from manifold assembly (15). 11. Remove O-ring seal (17) and two bearings (16) from the manifold assembly. Assemble Transmission And Torque Converter Charging Pump
Clean and put a thin layer of lubricant on all of the inside parts and surfaces of the pump before assembly. 1. Install two bearings (2) into manifold assembly (3) with tooling (A). The distance from the top of the bearing to surface (4) after assembly is .062 in. (1.57 mm).
Make sure the joint in both bearings (2) is in the correct location. The location of the joint is an angle of 30° 15° from the center line of the two bearing bores in the direction of groove (1) in surface (4).
2. Install a new O-ring seal (6) on the manifold assembly.3. Install a 3/8"-16 NC guide bolt in the manifold assembly and install transmission body assembly (5) in its original position on the
